Monitoring visit to Ghana

General, News 05 Jan, 2022

In November the DMDP secretariat returned from a monitoring visit to Ghana where we visited the WeGrow project implemented by Bluetown and CARE.

Bluetown offers low-cost sustainable Wi-fi solutions to connect people in rural areas. Beyond online access, BLUETOWN base stations comes with a local cloud, providing fast and easy access to e-learning, e-health, and e-governance. The DMDP funded WeGrow project works to develop e-learning material as e.g. tutorial videos for the agricultural sector starting in the Cocoa value chain. Through access to e-learning material the ambition is that farmers can build their capacity and ultimately improve their agricultural productivity and income.

The monitoring visit confirmed the potential of the proposed solutions and we look forward to following this project in the coming years. Thank you all DMDP partners and stakeholders and for a very interesting visit.
