Monday 28 September, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched several new Business Instruments aimed at engaging private companies and investors in developing and emerging markets to help bridge the gap in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including climate action.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also launching a One-Stop-Shop for financing opportunities in developing and emerging markets which provides an overview of different support opportunities for Danish companies including the new business instruments. More information can be found here.

Two of the new instruments, Business Partnerships and Innovation Bridge, will for the 2026 application round be managed by the current DMDP/DGBP Secretariat. Background documents, application guidelines and application forms for the two instruments is available here.

Business Partnerships is the successor of Danida Green Business Partnerships. It supports commercial partnerships that develop and implement viable business models contributing to inclusive jobs and incomes in developing countries. Business Partnerships brings together commercial and non-commercial partners with complementary resources, capabilities and knowledge to pursue a business opportunity. A strong and viable business case is at the core of each partnership and drives project implementation, while the business model must also generate development results and ensure responsible and sustainable business conduct.

Innovation Bridge is a new instrument, which supports partnerships between commercial companies and public authorities in partner countries. An Innovation Bridge Project seeks to explore the feasibility and demonstration of solutions and technologies provided by businesses which national authorities can use to improve the delivery of their public functions to more effectively tackle challenges and contribute to progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
