Scaling Climate-Smart Cocoa Agroforestry for Resilient Livelihoods and Sustainable Impact
This project expands the adoption of climate-smart cocoa agroforestry (CAS) in Ghana by linking smallholder farmers to premium, sustainability-driven cocoa markets. It supports 5,000 farmers in implementing profitable agroforestry systems that enhance resilience, improve productivity, and meet international buyer expectations.
Through advanced impact modeling, traceability systems, and regenerative farming practices – including biochar production – the project optimises farm productivity and promotes sustainable farming practices . This enables supply chain partners to align with science-based climate targets and secure verified, low-carbon cocoa supply.
By unlocking access to climate finance and premium markets, the project drives long-term value for farmers and commercial partners. It contributes to Ghana’s national climate goals and offers a scalable model for market-aligned climate-smart cocoa production.
