Clean Cooking Scale Up

The project is designed to address Bangladesh’s most pressing challenge in the nexus of climate, energy, and poverty by providing affordable access to clean cooking solutions for rural and peri-urban households. The aim is to develop a profitable business model that supports poor households with sustainable and environmentally safe cooking solutions. With a goal to reach 51,000 households within three years, the initiative plans to make electric cookstoves (eCook) accessible through a Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGO) model, enhancing affordability. The PAYGO model will also facilitate the collection of data essential for estimating the reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

The anticipated outcomes include a decrease in carbon emissions from the use of biomass for cooking, fostering increased employment opportunities for youth and women within the clean energy technology (CET) value chain, and broadening access to affordable electric cookstoves.
