Information About the DGBP 2024 Application Round

General, News 16 Aug, 2024

Following the closing of the 2024 DGBP Application Round, the DGBP Secretariat reviewed and assessed all 109 applications, namely 66 full project and 43 maturation project applications and is engaging with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the respective Danish Embassies for the further selection process.

The selection of DGBP concept notes is based on a comprehensive comparative assessment of their quality in relation to the objectives and scope of the programme. The four areas of significance for the Secretariat are the business idea, the impact in terms of addressing climate and/or environmental challenges and achieving developmental objectives, implementation and feasibility as well as coherence and synergies including with DANIDA’s overall strategy and priorities of the Danish Embassies.

Furthermore, the assessments also consider the scalability of the business idea beyond project implementation and the contribution to other sustainability-related impacts, such as the UN SDGs, advancing responsible business conduct and achieving wider market effects. Additionally, the projects are expected to set targets for the inclusion of women and youth, aiming for 50% of jobs created to be filled by women and 25% by young people. The consideration of these groups in the project’s impact and training activities will be an important part of the project selection criteria.

All projects selected for an interview will be informed as soon as possible.
