Monitoring visit to Kenya and Tanzania

The DMDP secretariat has just come home from a 2-week monitoring trip to Kenya and Tanzania to visit some of the DMDP projects in the countries. One of the projects we met with was the project: ‘From Waste to Value: Tapping the market for recycled plastic’ in Kenya by WWF, Plastix A/S, WWF Kenya, Jil Industries, Mr Green Africa and PETCO. The secretariat visited and discussed with a range of project stakeholders and it was a pleasure to feel the enthusiasm. It was encouraging to learn how the mindset is slowly changing from perceiving plastic as waste, to now seeing plastic as a resource which has a value. Thank you very much to the partners involved for a very interesting and inspiring visit.
