Coffee value chain strengthening and clean cooking solutions provision in rural communities in Uganda
This project aims to develop a business case for sustainable coffee production and natural resource management by improving climate and income resilience of coffee farmer communities in Kanungu district, Uganda. The carbon setting and insetting pilot project is to promote sustainable agriculture and agroforestry among 1,500 smallholder coffee farmers in Kanungu, while generating income through carbon credits, clean energy products, and certified coffee, and ensuring compliance with EUDR/CS3D regulatory standards.
The project’s innovative approach combines agroforestry, sustainable agriculture, clean energy, and certification, offering a holistic solution for smallholder coffee farmers, the environment, and the coffee industry as a whole.
